SCOPE 3
– GHG-EMISSIONS
4. Upstream transportation and distribution
5. Waste generated in operations
Indirect emissions from the transport and distribution of products purchased by STEFFCA,
occurring before they reach the company’s operations.
Indirect emissions from the treatment and disposal of waste generated by STEFFCA’s operations,
occurring outside the company’s direct control.
Overview
Calculation method
Overview
Calculation method
•
Total emissions from upstream transportation and distribution: 54,520 kg CO2e
•
EcoTransIT’s calculated emissions are
estimated to represent 90% of total upstream transport.
•
Total emissions from waste generated in
operations: 1,377 kg CO2e
•
It is assumed that 5% of total waste is
land昀椀lled.
•
Emissions in Category 4 have been partly
calculated by a third party (based on the
EcoTransIT methodology) and partly calculated using a spend-based approach.
•
Economic estimation applied for the
remaining 10%.
Emissions in Category 5 have been calculated based on STEFFCA’s waste data and average emission factors for waste treatment.
•
•
Waste data have been multiplied by
emission factors representing greenhouse gas emissions from the land昀椀lling
of different material types.
•
Value estimates have been converted
from DKK to EUR.
•
Data basis: All waste generated from STEFFCA’s operations, categorised by material
type (kg).
•
Emission factor units (EF): kg CO2e/kg
•
Data basis: Emission data calculated by
EcoTransIT, combined with estimated values
for the remaining transport activities.
•
Emission factors (EF) for land transport
services in Europe have been applied.
•
Source of emission factors: Exiobase
v3.3.16b2
•
Emission factor units (EF): kg CO2e/EUR
•
Total: Sum of all reported emissions.
•
Source of emission factors: Exiobase v.3
Monetary
•
Total: Sum of all reported emissions.
