SCOPE 3
– TREND OVER TIME
Tracking scope 3 emissions over time is important to
gain a more complete picture of STEFFCA’s carbon
footprint. Scope 3 is the largest and most complex part of
the inventory and includes indirect emissions from both
upstream and downstream activities, including purchased
goods and services, capital goods, transport and
distribution, employee commuting, business travel, waste
and end-of-life treatment of sold products.
Increase in capital goods related to the move
Emissions from capital goods increased from 0.054
tonnes CO₂e in 2024 to 48.360 tonnes CO₂e in 2025. The
signi昀椀cant increase was primarily due to investments in
昀椀xtures, machinery and other equipment related to the
move to the new headquarters. The increase should also
be seen in light of the very low level in 2024 and more
systematic registration of capital goods in 2025.
STEFFCA is a growing company, and the development in
scope 3 emissions must therefore be seen in relation to
increased activity, changed purchasing patterns, more
employees and increased transport activity. At the same
time, the data foundation for several categories improved
in 2025, which may affect comparability with previous
years. The development therefore re昀氀ects both changes
in activity level and changes in methodology and data
quality.
Emissions from the construction of the new headquarters
and from the acquisition of SealSupply Europe have
been calculated separately and are not included in the
comparable 昀椀gures for categories 1 and 2.
Development in scope 3 emissions 2024–2025
From 2024 to 2025, total scope 3 emissions increased
by 32%. The increase was primarily driven by higher
emissions in category 1, purchased goods and services,
which remains by far the largest scope 3 category.
Emissions from purchased goods and services increased
by 30%, partly re昀氀ecting STEFFCA’s growth and a higher
level of purchasing during the reporting year.

Higher upstream transport
Upstream transport and distribution increased by 130%
from 2024 to 2025. The increase is partly related to
a higher activity level and greater transport volume in
connection with the acquisition of SealSupply Europe.
At the same time, the data foundation has improved,
as the 2025 inventory is increasingly based on thirdparty calculations from STEFFCA’s logistics providers.
This provides a more speci昀椀c calculation of transport
emissions, but also affects comparability with previous
years.
