In 2024, STEFFCA’s total greenhouse gas emissions
amounted to 1,278 tonnes of CO₂e, with Scope 3 emissions continuing to dominate the company’s overall
climate footprint at 1,177 tonnes – equivalent to approximately 92% of total emissions.
This emphasises the signi昀椀cant role of the value chain and
highlights the need for ongoing collaboration with suppliers as well as accurate data collection within upstream
activities.
Scope 1 emissions increased to 78 tonnes, re昀氀ecting a
higher level of activity and fuel consumption at the company’s facilities – particularly from stationary combustion
and company vehicles.
Although this increase is linked to business growth, it
underscores the need to accelerate efforts towards more
energy-ef昀椀cient vehicles and low-emission heating alternatives.
Scope 2 emissions, on the other hand, decreased to 23
tonnes, marking continued progress in the transition to
cleaner energy sources and improved energy ef昀椀ciency in
the company’s buildings and production facilities.
This reduction supports STEFFCA’s strategy to lower
emissions from direct operations and demonstrates tangible progress in reducing the company’s overall climate
footprint.
Overall, the 2024 results indicate a stabilisation of total
emissions compared to previous years and show that
direct emissions are now under better control, while Scope
3 remains the primary focus for future initiatives.
A continued focus on supplier collaboration, responsible
procurement, and transport optimisation will be essential
to achieve further reductions across the entire value chain.
