In 2025, STEFFCA’s total greenhouse gas emissions
amounted to 1,637 tonnes CO₂e. Scope 3 emissions
remained by far the largest part of the carbon footprint
at 1,559 tonnes CO₂e, corresponding to approximately
95% of total emissions. This underlines the importance of
the value chain to STEFFCA’s total carbon footprint and
the need for continued focus on supplier collaboration,
responsible procurement, upstream transport and
improved data collection.

Scope 1 emissions amounted to 60 tonnes CO₂e in 2025.
Emissions decreased compared with 2024, despite
STEFFCA’s higher activity level. This was partly due to
a signi昀椀cant reduction in emissions from stationary
combustion following the phase-out of natural gas, as well
as a decrease in total emissions from company cars. This
is a positive step, but direct emissions from remaining
fossil fuel use are still an important focus area.
Overall, the 2025 results show that total emissions
increased compared with previous years, mainly due to
developments in scope 3.
Scope 2 emissions amounted to 18 tonnes CO₂e using
the location-based method. The reduction compared with
2024 re昀氀ects STEFFCA’s work with energy ef昀椀ciency,
optimisation of energy consumption and the move to the

The effect of STEFFCA’s Guarantees of Origin for
